Every year, I create a list of costumes and gowns that I would like to make.
In 2013, I had a long list, and I did get quite a lot of pattern work and cutting done early in the year. However, the moment I became pregnant (and my energy levels plummeted), the plan went out the window. Now I have a beautiful and happy baby girl, and I am ready to get back in the sewing room!
Since I do not have much free time, I have kept the list quite short – two gowns – although both will be complex.
The first is part of a sewing challenge that I could not resist – The 18th century court ensemble challenge on Démodé Couture!
I selected a gown worn in the 1938 Marie Antoinette film.
I can’t wait to see what everyone creates!
The second will be Katniss’ wedding gown from Catching Fire. I would love to finish this gown in time for DragonCon 2014!
Other ideas I am still playing around with include a Disney mash up and a Tudor style gown. Happy sewing everyone!
